I flipped her around and grabbed her thighs to lift and separate her legs. I grabbed the vibrator and pulled it out. She whimpered at the loss of her sex toy, but I replaced it with something more substantial. She grunted when I finally had myself buried. Turns out, Tracy was wrong: Melinda’s inability to dance had nothing at all to do with how good she was in bed.

I would rate Melinda an eight for overall oral skills. She was a ten as far as enthusiasm and willingness to try new things; she just needed repeated experience to get better, which I was willing to provide. I would rate her a solid seven in bed. But what did I expect, if only Blake Seaver had been there before me?

When I finally got off, I laughed. Melinda just collapsed and fell asleep. I had to smile when I remembered how she first reacted to seeing Mr. Happy. I guess the Seavs didn’t measure up, but then again, he was only five-eight or nine to my six-four. It really wasn’t fair to compare. It was also a little juvenile, but hey … I was only a teenager. If I were ever to be juvenile, it should be at this age.

Chapter 10 – Playtime’s Over Monday February 15

Melinda was still sleeping soundly, so I slipped out of bed and ran upstairs to take a shower.

“There he is,” Tyler called from the kitchen.

Adrienne and Kara were both sitting at the dining room table, eating waffles.

“I never thought I would see you doing the ‘walk of shame,’” Adrienne teased.

I just ignored their giggles and took my shower. When I came back, Melinda was there, giving out details. I had to cook my own omelet because Tyler wanted to hear the whole story.

“… and he asked me to Prom,” Melinda said.

“David, get in here,” Adrienne commanded.

“Yes?” I asked carefully.

“Melinda said you asked her to Prom. What about me?” she asked.

I couldn’t tell if she was serious or not. Then I got a little pissed.

“I think the whole Prom thing has gone far enough. Hannah was just a fun fantasy date, but she’s gotten herself engaged. While I love you to death, Adrienne, you’re in a committed relationship. You also stood me up when we tried this before, and I ended up with that horrible date with the girl Ford Models set me up with,” I said. Then I turned to Melinda. “It would be great for me both publicity- and ego-wise to take a Victoria’s Secret model to Prom. But I just don’t think it’s a good idea.”

“Well, okay then,” Melinda said and stood up to leave.

“Hang on, you didn’t let me finish. As of right now, it’s not a good idea. We’re just starting to get to know each other, and I really don’t want to go to Prom with someone I don’t know very well. Prom is something that you should go to with someone special. I would bet that if you were honest, you couldn’t say if I would ever be anything special to you or not,” I challenged.

Melinda thought about it for a moment.

“You could be if you gave us a chance.”

“I think you could be, too. When I asked last night, I was just goofing around. It surprised me when you said you would go.”

She took a deep breath, then let it out and smiled at me.

“I hope we don’t just have a one-night stand. I would love to see if we could date,” Melinda said. “Unfortunately, I really do have to go. My agent plans to work me to death before my contract is up.”

She came to me and gave me a sweet kiss goodbye.

I was afraid that she would be like Kara. Melinda was in demand now, and she needed to work while they wanted her. Not many models were like Adrienne and able to keep it going at such a high level for as long as she did. Even in retirement, she did a handful of jobs a year, and I was sure she could go full time again if she wanted. Given Melinda’s work schedule, I wouldn’t be surprised if last night did end up being a one-night stand.

I looked at Kara. In so many ways, she and I would be perfect for each other. She was a strong, independent woman who was sexy as hell. She’d actually been on the road by herself since she was fifteen. My parents would never have allowed me to do that. I got the impression that Kara’s folks weren’t happy when she first started to travel, but they both had jobs that prevented them from going with her. They’d trusted her manager to take care of her.

Luckily for her, she now had Adrienne and Tyler to watch out for her. They’d set her up in a condo with other models. Tyler was the one they all called ‘Mom’ because she called them out on bad behavior. Adrienne was a completely different story. She had all their respect because she’d lived the life. She knew what happened at photo shoots and the parties afterward. Adrienne had seen how the industry took advantage of young, inexperienced girls. In many ways, Melinda was a prime example. If it hadn’t been Blake Seaver, it would have been someone else from whom she learned a life lesson.
