“You turned me on with the way you picked me up in Miami. I’ve always had a thing for younger guys. It was a bonus that you were good-looking and confident without being arrogant. I also could tell that Adrienne liked you, which told me a lot. I had a lot of fun with you.

“When you called the last time you were in London, I had to see you again. Yesterday, even before I read the newspaper article, Adrienne called me and told me you were coming. She’s evil. Adrienne went into detail about how you’d rocked her world, which made me wonder. After I read the article, I decided to give you a call. I’m glad I did. Occasionally I miss sex with a man. You caught me at one of those times, or maybe it was Adrienne who got me horny for a willy again.”

“Come home with me, and you can have it whenever you want,” I said seriously.

“I can’t. If there were ever a guy I might do that with, it would be you, but I like girls. Plus, you live in the States, and you’re too young.”

She was right, but I knew that if you found someone that made you feel the way she could, you tried to keep her in your life.

◊◊◊ Saturday March 5

My dad called to wake me up. It was a good thing he did because I would have slept until noon. Tilly and Aubrey said they had to leave, but I think they just didn’t want to do the walk of shame and have breakfast with my father.

“Did you get any sleep?” Dad asked.

“Some,” I said and then changed the subject. “What time do we need to be at the studio?”

He was a terrible assistant. He had to call Caryn. I bit my bottom lip when she told him it was 2 a.m. back at home. He’d forgotten about the six-hour time difference. She made him give me his phone so she could have words with me.

“Show him how to use the calendar. Your schedule is on it.”

“No problem. What were you doing?” I asked.

“Sleeping, and when you get home, there will be payback,” she threatened before she hung up.

After I hung up, I had to find the calendar app on his phone. Dad just had his phone, text messaging, and Fritz’s alert app on the main page. I pulled the calendar and a couple of social media apps to the front page so he could use them. Mom was a pro at one app in particular and used it to talk to clients and her customers. Another I moved forward was a messaging app that you could record short videos on; I used it when I needed something longer than a text or tweet. I was actually just learning to use it myself. Lily told me it was part of my social media presence, but she couldn’t do it for me because they had to see me. To me, it was just one more thing I could get into trouble with, so I used it sparingly.

I opened the calendar, and there was our schedule for the day. I showed it to Dad.

“That’s handy.”

I swear, sometimes …

Saul, Dad, and I drove to the same studio that Rogue One was being filmed at. The paparazzi were out front and had Aden and Tilly cornered. The way she hung on his arm had me worried. Had I broken my rule about hooking up with another guy’s girl? She’d told me they were just friends. Then something popped into my head: was she his beard? Maybe she was what she said she was, his friend and nothing more.

“You ready to experience what I have to deal with?” I asked my dad.

“We should make Saul go first,” Dad said.

“Wusses,” Saul mumbled as he got out of the car.

Dad and I chuckled at my movie agent. When I stepped out of the car, the focus changed from Aden to me.

“Are you here to audition for the young Han Solo role?”

“They won’t let me say,” I said.

“So that means you’re here to audition?”

“I can’t say,” I said.

“Why are you here?”

“I cannot say,” I said with a big grin.

“So you won’t tell us why you’re here?”

“I think we’re getting there. Anyone else want to try?” I asked.

“Would it be safe to say you’re not here just to tour the studio?”

“You’re good,” I said, pointing to the one who asked. “I can’t say.”

“What can you tell us?”

“My new movie, The Secret Circle, will be out this summer. I start filming a thriller called The Royal Palm, set in Cuba, this summer. I’ve signed to do two more Star Academy movies.”

“If you were to get a role in a Star Wars movie, how would you feel?”

“Wow, just wow. I’ve grown up watching the films.”

“So, you would be excited when you win the role of Han Solo?”

I just laughed and entered the studio. Everyone knew why I was there. The studio had leaked my name as one of the people in the running. I didn’t want to violate the NDA and get into trouble before I even did a screen test.

◊◊◊

Aden was taken to do his screen test first, while I was escorted another direction to talk to the key people doing the casting. Mark Philpott introduced me to about ten people. Joyce Heart was watching from the back. She just winked at me to let me know to ignore her.

Mark kicked things off.

“This meeting is to get to know you better as a person. Why don’t you tell us about yourself?”
