“I’ll call her and find out,” I offered.
“No, don’t. I suspect it might be about what she was up to with not passing along messages. She could just be here to mend fences.”
That made sense.
“Okay.”
“Now, back to your stalker,” Brook said.
“You’re the second person to call her that,” I said and then told her what Adrienne said.
“She may be right. I wouldn’t be alone with her, and if you are, make sure you have surveillance,” she said and smiled at the worried look on my face. “Look at it this way. If I could get mad enough to try to kick you in the balls, imagine what a woman who doesn’t know you very well might be capable of.”
“Why does everyone think that Teresa’s trouble? She can’t help that she looks like that.”
“Any girl who crawls into my boyfriend’s bed, jills off, and then sprays her perfume on his sheets is an automatic concern.”
There wasn’t much I could say to that. All joking aside, Teresa had crossed a line.
“I’ll talk to her,” I promised.
“I love you. Always remember that,” Brook said, and sighed. “If you can talk Adrienne out of her panties, do it. I can tell you’re in serious need of stress relief.”
“No need. I’ll just do what most other guys do,” I said, showing a stroking motion.
“Okay, you’re disgusting.”
“Oh, please,” I said as I rolled my eyes and then smiled at her. “I hope you don’t think that the reason I’m frustrated is lack of sex. I’m frustrated because I miss you. The majority of our time is hanging out and being friends. Everything I’m doing out here, I want to share with you. With the time difference and my work schedule, it seems like we’re never able to talk.”
“I know. Me, too. When I see you, we might have to make up for all the time we’ve missed in bed, though. It could take days. Weeks!”
When she made comments like that, with her raspy voice, it did things to me. Damn, I missed her.

I made Tyler sit in the back, next to me. We had a good talk as Adrienne got to know Teresa. The Japanese contingent had asked the hotel to shuttle them to the party via a stop at my house to pick up Jiro and Hana. When we arrived, Zak came out front and shook his head.
“You always make an entrance,” he said as he gave me a bro hug.
Then he saw Adrienne and Teresa get out of the car.
“Bec is going to kill you. When she sees you brought those two, she’ll be glued to my side all night long,” he whispered to me.
I waited until the bus unloaded.
“Everyone, this is Zak Verwood, actor, and all-around good guy. He was in
“Follow me, and I’ll give you the grand tour. If you’re a friend of David’s, you’re a friend of mine. There is only one rule: have fun,” he said as he led them into the house.
Adrienne slid up next to me and took my arm. Two seconds later, Teresa took the other one. While Zak showed everyone the house, I walked out back. Bec spotted me and came over with a big smile on her face. She saw the talent on my arms and almost did a face-plant as the ground seemed to jump up and trip her. I reached forward and caught her.
“Careful,” I said as I stood her back up.
“Jesus, David. Where did you meet these two?” she asked.
“This is Teresa; she’s a neighbor of mine in Malibu and a student at Pepperdine, where we’re shooting the show I’m in. I’d also like you to meet Adrienne, who used to model but got too old. Now she tries to be seen with younger men so she can get back in the game,” I said. Then I turned my attention to Teresa and Adrienne, who was smirking as she got ready to brain me.
I ducked behind Bec, holding her as a shield as I faced the crew I’d brought.
“I want to introduce Bec Carson, an out-of-work actress who’s living off the goodwill of Zak, the guy you met when we came in.”
“He’s in a mood,” Bec said and then turned to my girls. “Let’s dump him and grab a drink.”
The three of them left me, so I wandered around the house to the pool in the back, where I heard screams and splashes and what sounded like fun. I found a pool full of mostly girls having a giant water fight. The interesting part was that about half of them had lost their tops. I about had a heart attack when someone goosed me. I twirled around and saw the smiling face of Tanya Hendricks, who had played Faye Chamberlain in
“Come swimming with us,” she urged.
Tanya was wearing a little bikini and had obviously been in the middle of the chaos that was happening behind me.
“I don’t have a swimsuit,” I reasoned.
“If you don’t wear one, I won’t either,” she suggested.
I thought about that for all of a half-second and started to get undressed. It seemed we started something because half the people in the pool began to lose their suits onto the deck. Tanya pushed me in, and I was immediately dunked by three girls who had teamed up. Oh, they did not! It was game on at that point.
I guess we were making a racket because soon everyone from the party was around the pool, watching.
“Either join us, or we start throwing you in the deep end,” I announced.
