“Where’s your mom?” I asked.
“At the house, packing.”
I gave both Tracy and Pam a worried look.
“This is going to sound bad, but I’m horny.”
Pam rolled her eyes at me, but Tracy got a big smile on her face.
“Funny you should say that,” Tracy chirped.
“You two are terrible,” Pam huffed.
“You could join us,” I suggested.
“No, thanks. Tracy’s been complaining she might have to get a boyfriend. I don’t know where you can do it. We don’t have any furniture yet.”
“I expect we can manage,” Tracy said.
Pam stepped back as Tracy and I got undressed. I guess Tracy really was horny if she was willing to do it in front of her friend. There was none of what had happened with Zoe. This was just sex and two friends helping each other out. Tracy and I had always been good at this part, and we were again today.
Pam was really showing now, and I think she was shy about her condition. When she saw Tracy climax hard and roll off me, she decided to join in after all. With Pam, I was gentler at first. She wanted to do it doggy-style. That and on her side were her most comfortable positions now. I didn’t last long with her, because I didn’t need a condom. I reached my release first but was hard enough to continue and get Pam off.
This was precisely what I needed.

Pam had to go home, so I asked Tracy to go to dinner with me.
I felt like fried chicken, so I took her to the diner across from the hospital. I smiled to see that Kim was working. She helped her aunt and uncle out sometimes. We asked to be in her section.
“What are you two up to?” she asked when she came to take our drink orders.
“David’s taking me on one of his dates,” Tracy said.
“When are you going to ask me out?” Kim teased.
“You two need to stop, or I’ll have a real problem,” I said.
Kim sat down to join us; the restaurant wasn’t bustling. She wanted to know why I was worried. I explained to her about random girls offering themselves to me and that I didn’t want to encourage that.
“Well, I hear you spend time in the music room,” Kim said, shocking me.
I just stared at her.
“He does that sometimes,” Tracy said, which made them both laugh.
“If Zoe’s going to bail on you, I think you could take care of that random-hookup problem,” Kim said.
That confirmed the freshman girl had talked. I felt my ears get hot.
“Seriously, David. For a supposed skirt-chaser, you sure do act like a wimp. Girls are offering you no-strings sex, and you act like it’s a bad thing,” Tracy said.
“Isn’t it?” I asked.
“Did you think that in LA?” Tracy asked.
I did the carp-out-of-water routine where my mouth opened and closed, and I blinked my eyes.
“You were a little slut, from what I heard,” Kim added.
I couldn’t tell if they were joking or not. Tracy had encouraged me to date other people besides the ones I was currently seeing. I just didn’t think I had the time or inclination to pull a Zak, my co-star in
“I’m not really up for that,” I said.
“Do you trust me?” Tracy asked.
“Not really,” I answered.
That didn’t seem to slow her down.
“Let me set you up on a date. I promise you’ll have fun.”
I looked at Kim, and she shrugged.
“Okay, why not,” I caved.
Kim stepped into the back and brought us a platter of chicken and all the sides. She joined us, and we had a good time.

Chapter 21 – This is All Your Fault Monday March 14
I was about ready to go run when the intercom came on.
“Wait for me. I want to run with you,” Peggy said.
“I’m leaving in ten.”
Duke and I ran downstairs so he could do his business and play with Precious. I shook my head when I saw the cat from hell and my pup together. She’d been bigger than him for the first few months. He was now eighty-five pounds and towered over her, but that didn’t mean she was frightened of him. If you heard the two of them go at it, you’d assume someone was about to die. Duke had a deep, playful growl, and Precious … well, let’s just say she was downright scary.
Peggy came out and handed me Little David.
“You’re not planning on carrying him, are you?” I asked.
She ignored me, stepped over to the garage, and entered the code to get the door to go up. Inside was a running stroller, made with large, bicycle-like wheels in the back and a smaller one in the front. I spotted Rachel and Buster coming up the street, so I opened the driveway gate. Rachel let Buster loose so he could join the fun. Precious hissed and popped him on the nose. The big pit bull just shrugged it off. Duke rolled her while she was acting tough, and the chase was on.
Duke figured out that Little David was with us and came over to make sure he was okay. Buster bounded up, and Duke turned and let out a low warning growl that was no longer fun. I grabbed his collar.
“Easy, Big Guy. Buster won’t hurt your baby,” I said and put him on his leash.
Rachel did the same for Buster. Rachel was all smiles when she saw Peggy.
