Little Toomai pattered after him, barefooted (Маленький Тумаи, босой, засеменил за ним; to patter – барабанить, стучать; семенить, шлепать; bare – голый, обнаженный; foot – нога; barefooted – босой), down the road in the moonlight (вниз по дороге, /залитой/ лунным светом), calling under his breath (зовя = прося под дыханием = шепотом), “Kala Nag (Кала Наг)! Kala Nag (Кала Наг)! Take me with you, O Kala Nag (возьми меня с собой, о Кала Наг)!”
