Другой классикъ Jean de la Taille, въ пролог къ своей комедіи Les Corrivaux, увряя публику, что его пьеса, сочиненная по образцамъ древнихъ грековъ и римлянъ и новйшихъ итальянцевъ, больше иметъ правъ на вниманіе чмъ какіе нибудь фарсы и моралите, при этомъ совершенно не кстати прибавляетъ: "Aussi avons nous un grand d'esir de bannir de ce royaume telles badineries et sottises, qui comme am`eres 'epiceries pe font que corrompre le go^ut de notre langue" etc. Тотъ же авторъ въ письм къ герцогин де Неверъ, служащемъ предисловіемъ къ его трагедіи Sa"ulle Furieux, возвращается снова въ ненавистному ему народному театру и почти въ тхъ ше выраженіяхъ. "Je voudrais bien (говоритъ онъ), qu'on I eut banni de France, telles am`eres 'epiceries, qui g^atent le go^ut de I notre_langue. Plut `a Dieu, que les Rois et les Grands sussent le plaisir que c'est de voir r'eciter et repr'esenter au vif une vraie Trag'edie ou Com'edie en un th'e^atre tel que je le saurais bien deviser et qui jadis 'etait en si grande estime pour les passetemps des Grecs et des Romains.
